this is not funny

I wrote the last post, then decided to hop in the shower. Yes, it was 2:30 in the afternoon. Its my day off, I'm allowed.

I took a nice long hot shower, all the while thinking calm and relaxing thoughts. The events of earlier really did freak me out. I turned off the water, opened the curtain, stepped out to the rug...and saw another one staring right at me.

I screamed a lot.

This one? He's still loose. Excuse me, I'm going to move out of state now.

I would move. Funny snake story: Last year I was working with Learning Support students. They went to lunch, I went to lunch. When I returned to the classroom to prepare for the afternoon, I saw a "rubber" snake on the floor. Now, one of the spelling words of the day was "scare". Of course, Mrs. G said "Scare. Do not scare me with that snake." Class laughed, we moved on. As I reached down to pick up the "rubber" snake, I thought again. Maybe I should be sure? Yup! Poked it with a meter stick and it moved! I immediately left the room and calmly (well I felt calm, even if I was clutching the meter stick) asked a custodian to remove the varmit. Scariest part? He actually had a clamp to pick up snakes in his office! Everyone on my floor spent the rest of the semester looking at the floor, not each other. Move. For sure. Or teach the cat to hunt something else.
