Habitat

What's our plan for today? Turning this into a bunny home:

A lot of work ahead of us, no? This is half our mud-room-y kind of place, and as you can see, its a bit of a catch-all. Cans that need to go for return, shoes that never seem to stay on the racks, empty boxes to take to the landlord (he heats with wood, and recycles boxes as kindling), coats, scarves, a tiny part of our craft supplies. Everything. And yeah, I am ashamed to show this. I am flat-out dreading the clean-up (spiders!!), but keep repeating, "it's for the bunny. It's for the bunny."

Then, once we're thoroughly exhausted ourselves getting rid of useless junk, it's off to Macy's for their Shop For A Cause drive, where local charities benefit from folks buying stuff. Mr. Cygknit has been manning a table all this week to raise money for Western Connecticut Agency on Aging, the group that funds his job this past summer, protecting seniors from unfair consumer practices. He's a good egg, that Mr. Cygknit.

He's started cleaning--I'd better go. It's for the bunny, you know.

Thank G-d! I thought I was the only one to have a room like that (OK, so it's the whole house and there are more books. Way more books, but still). I applaud your bravery in showing it to us.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who blogs their mess in the interest of self-inspiration. My mess did get cleaned up, and subsequently replaced by a newer, more focused mess. How's yours?
